Injectables

Conveniently located to serve Rockville, Annapolis, and McLean

InjectablesCosmetic injectables are a versatile, non-surgical solution for many aesthetic concerns. Board-certified plastic surgeon Dr. Barry J. Cohen provides exceptional results with injectables at his Rockville medical practice.

What Are Injectables?

Cosmetic injectables fall into two main categories: dermal fillers and neuromodulators. When injected in small doses, these products can provide a range of sculpting and rejuvenating effects.

Dermal fillers and neuromodulators can be injected as stand-alone treatments or can be combined with additional cosmetic procedures. In some cases, a combination of fillers and neuromodulators is recommended for optimal results. Skin rejuvenation with chemical peels, dermabrasion, or other therapies can also complement injectable treatments.

Injectables are often used to address signs of aging, including lost volume, drooping, and wrinkles. Injectables are most commonly used throughout the face but can improve the appearance of the chest, hands, and other areas of the body as well.

Am I a Candidate?

Dr. Cohen can determine your candidacy for treatment with injectables by meeting with you for a consultation. Candidates must be in good physical health with realistic expectations for the outcome of their treatment.

Injectables are an effective method of treating mild to moderate signs of aging. Advanced signs of aging such as loose, hanging skin may require more intensive intervention, such as plastic surgery.

Injectable Dermal Fillers

Dermal fillers provide temporary facial enhancement with minimal downtime. The most commonly used dermal fillers are made with hyaluronic acid, which improves hydration for a plumping and firming effect. Hyaluronic acid is absorbed by the body over time, so periodic retreatment will be needed to maintain your dermal filler results.

Dermal fillers can be injected to:

  • Enhance the lips, cheeks, nose, and jawline
  • Fill under-eye hollows
  • Reduce the appearance of lines and wrinkles
  • Improve facial balance
  • Restore lost volume

Neuromodulators

Neuromodulators like Botox, Dysport, Xeomin, and Jeuveau can be injected to relax wrinkles caused by muscle movements. Over time, the muscles used for repetitive facial expressions like frowning and smiling can become overactive.

This means that frown lines can become permanently etched into the brow, or smile lines can become deep creases that cause us to look older than we are. Neuromodulators temporarily decrease muscle activity to relax those unwanted folds and furrows and restore a more youthful look.

What Kind of Recovery Can I Expect with Cosmetic Injectables?

Injectables are a minimally invasive treatment, and patients can resume most of their normal activities the same day as their injections. Mild bruising, tenderness, or redness may occur after an injectable treatment. Dr. Solomon can provide recommendations for easing these symptoms, if needed.

How Much Do Injectables Cost?

The price of an injectable treatment will depend on the specific product and dosage needed to accomplish your desired outcome. After developing your personalized treatment protocol, Dr. Solomon will provide complete details regarding your procedure and the associated cost.
