Pro Nox
We are always committed to giving you the most comfortable treatments. We now have ProNox® available for in-office surgical procedures, laser treatments, Ultherapy, micro-needling and aesthetic injections. This therapy is fast acting and offers immediate relief of any pain and anxiety. If a patient is feeling anxious or uncomfortable, a few deep breaths through the ProNox® mouthpiece gives a carefully calibrated mixture of Nitrous oxide (once called laughing gas) and oxygen to them, which will act quickly to decrease a patient’s pain and anxiety. This is fast acting and leaves the body within minutes allowing patients to drive themselves home after most procedures.
What is ProNox®?
ProNox® is an innovative analgesia system that involves the use of a patient-controlled, 50/50 combination of nitrous oxide and oxygen to minimize anxiety and discomfort from a procedure. Nitrous oxide is a well-known sedative (once called laughing gas) that calms the central nervous system, allowing patients to feel comfortable during treatments.
How is ProNox® administered?
One of the reasons that ProNox® is so popular, is that the controlled sedative effects are under the control of the patient. When our patients feel anxious or uncomfortable, a few deep breaths through the PRO-NOXTM mouthpiece gives a carefully calibrated mixture of laughing gas and oxygen to them, which will act quickly to decrease their pain and anxiety.
What are the benefits of ProNox®?
This system is fast acting and takes effect within seconds and leaves the body in minutes. Patients do not have to come in early to have this administered and they are able to drive themselves home after most procedures. This system has been used safely for decades to manage pain, anxiety and discomfort. ProNox® can be used safely even for longer procedures.
Are there any risks or side effects?
Nitrous oxide has been safely used for decades in dermatologic, surgical, and dental settings. ProNox® gives our patients control by allowing them to self-administer. ProNox® has internal safety mechanisms such as, infection control via a one-way delivery valve and automatic shut-off if either nitrous oxide or oxygen levels in the machine become too low.
How much does this cost?
Call our office to inquire about adding this to your next procedure.
