If you’ve been looking for a way to enhance the appearance of your buttocks while reducing fat from other areas of your body, the Brazilian butt lift is the perfect choice.
The look of a person’s rear end is determined by their skeletal structure, as well as the way their body stores fat. In many cases, the buttocks looks flat and shapeless. A Brazilian butt lift addresses these shortcomings.
What Is a Brazilian Butt Lift?
The Brazilian butt lift is a form of gluteal augmentation that helps to achieve a fuller, rounder, and better-contoured buttocks. This is done by transferring fat from another part of the body to the buttocks. This fat-grafting technique improves the size and shape of a person’s buttocks and enhances the contours of their body.
The Benefits of a Brazilian Butt Lift
A Brazilian butt lift offers several benefits:
How Is a Brazilian Butt Lift Performed?
A Brazilian butt lift starts with a consultation with Dr. Cohen, who will determine whether the patient is a suitable candidate. The patient’s complete medical history will be discussed, including any medications they are currently taking, any previous procedures they have undergone, and any allergies they have.
During the procedure, Dr. Cohen will start by marking the area of the body where the fat will be removed from. This area is called the harvest site, which is usually the thighs or abdomen. The sites where the fat will be injected are also marked.
The patient will be given general or local anesthesia, and incision sites will be cleaned with an antiseptic solution. Next, to provide access for the liposuction cannula and infiltration cannula, incisions are made at the harvest site. Incisions also made in the buttocks for the fat-transfer cannula.
Fat is harvested from the donor site and suctioned into a container. It is purified and then transferred into a large syringe. This fat is injected into numerous areas of the buttocks through the fat-transfer cannula. Lastly, the incisions are closed with sutures.
Healing After a Brazilian Butt Lift
Once your Brazilian butt lift is complete, the healing process will begin. This will require following Dr. Cohen’s care directions closely. If you do not, the risk of fat-cell death will increase, which can negatively affect your results.
You will need to take time off from work to rest and recover. Typically, patients take around two weeks off from work. You will also need to stay away from physically taxing activities like sports and heavy exercise.
Wearing a supportive post-surgical elastic garment will help reduce swelling and bruising in the harvest and injection regions. It will also be vital that you avoid sitting directly on your buttocks for two to three weeks. Pressure on the transferred fat cells can negatively affect your results.
